St. David's Welsh Society of Georgia - Since 1984, representing Welsh in Georgia

About Us

Named for the patron saint of Wales, The St. David’s Welsh Society of Georgia was founded in 1984 to promote and preserve Welsh culture and history in Georgia. Membership is open to all and includes natives of Wales, those who trace some part of their family tree to Wales, and those with an interest in and love of this unique country, language and culture.

The Society hosts a series of Social and Educational Events during the year; our largest is our  St. David’s Day Celebrations held on the Sunday closest to March 1st, St. David's Day. Our celebrations include a luncheon, music, a speaker and as always great fellowship.

We are one of the major organizers of WELSHfest, the only Welsh centered festival in Georgia, held every year on the third weekend of March in Rockmart Georgia. WELSHfest celebrates the Welsh settlers who founded the town in the mid 1800's and includes Welsh food, music, games, and much more. Please visit the WELSHfest Website for more information.

The Society works to promote Wales and Welsh Business in Georgia, and is a major force behind developing the Welsh business and organizational support of WELSHfest.
